Gallery Of Landscapes And Seascapes Photography
A selection of photographs by Philip Preston
The photographs below are a selection of images taken during visits to a number of scenic landscape locations within the UK and USA.
The USA photographs came from photography workshops I attended some years ago which included visits to Grand Teton National Park, Upper Antelope Canyon, Death Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Monument Valley, Alabama Hills, and Yellowstone National Park. All of these are amazing well known places and classic locations for landscape photography, offering photographers the chance to capture wonderful images - depending on the weather of course! There were quite a few occasions where weather conditions were not always favourable to our photography, but when things did go according to our hopes, the scene before our eyes was a joy to behold. I recall visiting the classic barn location on Mormon Row, Jackson, Grand Teton National Park for sunrise and being met with grey blanket clouds hiding the mountains behind the barn, misery! We repeated our visit the following morning, and got the same results, further misery. But on our third, and final, visit everything was as hoped with a wonderful sunrise, nice colour in the clouds, and a a sprinkling of snow on the mountain tops. We quickly forgot the previous two days experience, and left as happy photographers.
The UK also has its fair share of wonderful scenic locations, and images below are from a variety of places including: Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia, Lake District, Northumberland and Cornwall.
