Colour Photography Portfolio

A selection of colour photographs featuring architecture, cityscapes, landscapes and other subject matter.  Overall, they showcase the type of imagery I like to produce. Brief details about each image are shown, including location, and some technical details such as camera and settings. Many of these images are available for purchase as prints on my Fine Art America / Pixels store, in a variety of sizes and finishes including framed, canvas, and metal prints. Greeting cards are also available.

Rotterdam, Holland

Rotterdam is the second largest Dutch city, and has the largest Port in Europe. It is well known for its modern architecture, such as in this photograph of the Rotterdam skyline at night, featuring Erasmus Bridge and De Rotterdam Vertical City skyscrapers in the background.

Stockholm is the capital city of Sweden, and this photograph taken in nice early morning light shows examples of architecture in the central precinct of Norrmalm, alongside the Lilla Vartan waterway.

The Rotterdam Markthal (Market Hall) is a modern bustling building comprising food stalls, office buildings and residential apartments in the centre of Rotterdam. The fabulous display of Dutch cheese and smiling stallholder has been licensed a number of times including the UK Times Newspaper.

GODREVY

Cornwall, UK

Cornwall is a county bordering the Atlantic Ocean in south west England, UK. This photograph shows Godrevy lighthouse, located on a small island in St Ives Bay, at sunset. The soft water effect was obtained with a 20 second long exposure using a neutral density filter.

CITY SKYLINE

Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt is the fifth largest city in Germany, and a global hub for commerce, culture, education, tourism and transportation. The Frankfurt skyline is shaped by some of Europe's tallest skyscrapers, as seen in this photograph at sunrise, viewed from the Deutschherrnbrücke bridge.

JAPANESE GARDEN

The Hague, Netherlands

The Japanese Garden is the crown jewel of Clingendael Park, with beautiful and rare trees and plants. The garden is open only for a few weeks in a year during spring and autumn, so is well worth a look if you are in the area during opening times.

Valencia, Spain

Valencia is home to the City of Arts and Sciences, a cultural and architectural complex, designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. This photograph shows Hemispheric at twilight, an IMAX Cinema, planetarium and laserium, built to resemble a giant eye.

BATTLE OF BOSWORTH

Bosworth Battlefield is the site in Leicestershire, England, UK, where on 22 August 1485 King Richard III was defeated in battle by Henry Tudor, thus ending the English civil war between the houses of Lancaster and York. Each year, a battle re-enactment is held at the site to commemorate the historic event, providing interesting opportunities for photographers.

GUGGENHEIM, BILBAO, SPAIN

The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain, was designed by architect Frank Gehry, and features modern and contemporary art exhibits. The building design is quite remarkable and offers lots of photographic opportunities, such as this section of the building with wonderful light at sunset.

LONDON EYE AT SUNSET

The Coca-Cola London Eye (aka Millennium Wheel, or London Eye), is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3.75 million visitors annually.
